    Complete newcomer question...

    by Zykonaton » Mon Jul 29, 2013 11:45 am

Hi, I am a complete newcomer to Video Mapping and I haven't purchased any software yet but before I delve into this fascinating world, I have a question that I hope someone can answer.

I am hopping to do some scenery work in a small theatre that I volunteer for who are producing a musical production which involves a live rock band. I realise that I will need a high(ish) lumen projector due to the high light output of the show but does anyone think that I need more than one projector to cover an area of approximately 8 - 10 metres stage width or will one be ok.
I'm sorry for such a general question but if someone can give me some ice of what gear I might need from the beginning, that would be a great help.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Rick

the back of most stages - once you go above the heads of the performers - is the same shape as two x 4:3 screens side by side - 8:3 or thereabouts..

two medium size projectors are much cheaper than one big one.
problem is, where do you project from and what are you projecting onto..
you need to decide that first and then work back from there...
