    beat detect modul?

    by MrStromberg » Tue Aug 05, 2008 5:10 pm

    Hi

I have searched a lot for a software or a module that will detect the BPM of incoming sound through the line-in of my soundcard and then send this to modul8 to sync with the bpm router module or other beat sensetive modules. Does anyone know about such a thing?

I've downloaded the midiclock 1.2 app but this doesn't detect beats as far as I understand.

tapping in the bpm manually steals a lot of time during my live gigs. It would be so nice to let go of this.

Is there otherwise any suggestions of a good hardware beat detector that sends midi clock and that's not to big?

Is this the device you are talking about?

Looks promising - wonder how well it works in modul8 and if there will be any latency problems with the visuals since there seems to be no way of compensate for it in modul8 - or is there? (Asuming that the image shown on the screens often is a little bit slower then the actual beat - wich I experience in the bpm modul as of now)

Would be nice with an update for the bpm master modul that would allow for compensation of latency!

Also - have you found any software like the audiobox (http://www.patchbox.net/) for mac OS X?

I have found that the most effective beat detection is to assign a key on my midi controller to Tap.

That's what I'm doing now but it takes lots of time away from doing other stuff - that's why I started this thread...
