    L-BPM router

    by eyeborg » Wed Nov 29, 2006 1:30 am

I'm really having fun with all the BPM modules for the latest beta.

Just wondering if there is a way to make the speed of my layer synch with BPM so that my layer (or all layers) is played faster or slower to make it snap to the BPM 'grid' of 1/2 or 1/4 etc . I've found I can make the layer speed slider go back and forth to the BPM, but I want it to just stay still and keep a steady tempo to the BPM.

Have I missed something obvious here...? I hope so...

    Bump!

Is there really no way to time-stretch clips to the BPM? In any Module or any other way than using the master speed in the appliation? The master speed is too sensitive, I can't adjust it accurately for my clips to synch. I've got a show tonight,,, I'd just love it to be 'tighter'.

the only solution i see is to create a module. the probelm with a time strech is the timebase calculation, you can have a 25fp clip or a 29.9 or 30 fps clip or a custom speed media. so what would be the time reference for a bpm based speed? is 60 bpm the unit for the original speed?

Try turning your movie speed to zero and then syncing bpm to this knob using a sawtooth wave.

    That's good - but....

This is a great solution. I am still looking to have control of the master speed slider via the bpm router. Setting their values equal to each other would be soooooooo useful. Is there an adjustment that can be made to the current module? Or can the scratch knob be set for all layers?
