I would also be surprised if the licensing system for modul8 (and by extension the parts of it that interact with the python scripting) allowed you to profit from sales, seeing as the nuts and bolts of the code is really written by Garagecube, and all we do as users is interact with that script I haven't looked into it, but I'm sure someone from garagecube could clarify..
I agree and i don't agree in the same time. it's nice to share modules but sometimes it needs a lot time to write an ergoniomic handy and powerful module. most of programs aren't written from scratch you always use existing codes to build it up. i think there should be a way to thank people who write modules. Freeframes for instance. some of them are free but other people are selling them it is part of their job ( for instance vfx.com). It's exactly the same as Max objects some programmers and artists couldn't live without this business because it is part of their business and their researches. some max objects are for free others not. when you have a gig and you are using modules you downloaded, the one who wrote it helped you to earn your money in a way.
Everything cannot be given.
you don't need to be a good developper to share modules, sometimes small modules can be very handy.
Sharing is a good thing but sharing is a Two side process.
