    text change layer... vjing poetry

    by lamepantallas » Sat Apr 05, 2008 8:26 pm

Hello, I just wanted to thank the person who created the text change module. I have been vjing poetry for 2 years now, and the module created with text change has helped enormously with my real time control and manipulation over the text, saving me tons of time editing text and creating text mov files. So if you are out there. THANKS!

Since I dont have the least idea on how to create/modify/add or program a module, could you be so kind in helping me 1) make the text area bigger or more elongated downwards, 2) apply BPM to the text change.Or instruct me how to do so...

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hi, nice work, I really like the qualities and intent of your live poetry.
I have made a quick mov to show you how to make very basic alterations in the Module Editor which should enable you to change the interface as you desire.

    Download it from here:
    http://moongold.me.uk/storage/text%20change.mov

There is no way I can see to link the BPM Global/BPM Layer and/or any text module buttons together at present which is the way to do this in M8.

This would, I think, be pretty easy to do for those that can do Python; sadly I am unable to with my present understanding.
You will need to ask a Python literate friend or ditto on these forums to make a Text Change module alteration to allow this linking.
I would also find this very, very useful so we could go halves on the fee :-)

The other way would be to try out VDMX (i know, horror of horrors!) which I have been using for similar live performances where I need to 'make' a unique set-up with complete bpm and midi integration.

    regards
    Moongold
