    bpm on audiovideo clips

    by momo3010 » Mon Jun 20, 2005 6:30 pm

Just download modul8, great work done!!!
the bpm modul is very usefull for clips with no sound, just thought if...

...there is a solution to get audiovideo clips beat matched?

sounds ridiculously impossible unless you could put BPM metadata into the movie file somehow and modul8 would read that and adjust it for you.
Either that or build all your clips as four bar length (or other multiple's represented in the BPM module...) and only use those... still, in order to beatmatch and do proper mixing it would require some serious changes to allow monitoring audio and all... yikes.

    why think so complicaded,
i have adjust all my audiovideo clips 125 bpm (one bar, two bar, three bar.. long).
i was thinking of a modul that adjust the layer speed through a bpm counter.
What do you think about that? Is that scriptable?

OK I was thinking you meant to use modul8 as a serious audio mixing tool as well... the thing with working this way is that it only works with short clips. but are you saying that the BPM module doesn't work with clips that have audio? the BPM module should work with any clip really. no?

yes, just using some short clips, no real audio mixing (for monitoring i use a external audio mixer)
the problem with the bpm modul using audiovideo is that it does manipulate the movie position (it seems like scanning every single frame) as a result audio sound like an old not working gameboy.... just noise .
