Switch Clips on Beat automatically

Hi,

I'm trying to playback a set of clips automatically (which already does work using either "media sequencer" or "slide show"), but what would be really great is if i could have the clip changes not defined by the clips length or a preset time, but by the beat.

is there a module that would analyse a line in source for its bpm and then switch through clips let's say every 4, 8, 16, bars or so?

in general i am a little bit confused by how line in and beat detection works. is there a module that gives me global bar-based indicators of changes to the clips?

It would be great if anyone can help me on any of my questions.

Thank you in advance!

There is no module that will analyze the beat for BPM. However, you can either tap/set the BPM yourself in the BPM (Global Module) or use a MIDI clock to sync the BPM. That of course if you have a sound device that sends MIDI clock like a high end DJ Mixer, a music instrument or audio software like Cubase or Ableton Live. There is also hardware that can analyze a sound source and output a midi clock (http://www.redsound.com/products/).

That said, I think you can obtain what you ask for by using the BPM (Global) Module together with the (VS) Layer Sequencer module and clicking the "Match BPM" box and setting the BPM ratio to the right. Noting will of course happen until you input a value greater than zero into the BPM (Global) module.
