I just wanted to say I absolutely love the images that I see being produced with modul8 and the ability to use multiple projectors really sounds promising.

My question regards the screens you are using in your gallery images. What type of material is this? It doesn't look like real silk, but I was curious what it was.

Yes it's not fire proof.
But you can use some products to do that.

you can also buy M1 (fire proof) canvas too
we bought M1 mosquito net at a azur scenic
there you'll find a large range of materials to build screens and all of thoses canvas are fire proof

Thanks for the help. Could you point out the mosquito net from the azur scenic site? I looked through their catalog (in english) and didn't see mosquito netting... All of their fabrics are fireproof?

wedding dress material can be very good too - in three layers, fifteen centimetres apart for a semi-3D effect. need very strong shapes and colour luminance in the loops for that to look effective.

for a no-transparency option, cheesecloth can have a nice texture.

Try theatre fabric suppliers as they have a consise range of fabrics all DFR and IFR(durable and inherantly fire retarded). They also have "wide" fabrics not just 1.5m wide. Shark tooth gauzes are great. Hard wearing and come in many different grades(thickness's and mesh sizes). They are more expensive than high street fabrics but you dont need to piss around fire retarding them yourself. Also some fire retardents leave stains on fabrics which tend to show up when lit.

If you are in uk then jc joel www.jcjoel.co.uk are great. They have some very interesting IFR PUFC fabrics ( strong, waterproof and very white )

As a foot note to all VJ's "get fire retarded screens". I have seen a crap screen go up in flames recently with dripping plastic falling from the sky. It is out responability to follow saftey rules and not cut corners to save a few quid/bucks.

becareful, theatre safety rules are far different from a club/event regulation. you must use fireproof materials. in case of the safety commussion inspect your installation and you can't guarantee your screens and frames are fireproofs your event will be busted out
