    DVD mixer

    Anyone know of a simple app that crossfades 2 DVDs? For example if i plug in a USB DVD drive i can mount 2 discs on the Mac. I've scoured the internet for something like this but only expensive and complex DJ software seems to do it (or claims too, i haven't managed to get a demo working yet)

    The reason? It's actually to play a DVD or two as backup if things go wrong and something to play when switching between Modul8 sets.

    I have used NicePlayer http://code.google.com/p/niceplayer/ before and it's been on my puter for a while. I found it has some features that i'm after.

    1. Full screen - doesn't go pop or display awful crap when you click something in full screen (DVD player, VLC)

    2. Playlists - you can add DVDs from 2 (maybe more) drives, quicktime movies etc. Also you can switch between them with the [ and ] keys!

    3. A title list - You can have several DVD movies and no menu (defaults to black screen) Just choose from the list.

    4. Open source

    It is a tiny bit unstable but nothing serious. No crossfade though!
    :( (dream on)

    maybe try to load it into a quartz composition that you would trigger when you close a project . i guess it could work if you create a module that sends MIDI signal to launch video from QC.
    the code should be placed into the Finish() bloc.

    i did a try with a short video loop played with quartz composer
    when the quartz billboard is disabled the CUP ressource is nearly close to 0%

    you can download the test file &module there;
