I have a big show coming up and I am using all of my own gear. I finally have a MacBook Pro and have decided to upgrade from NTSC BNC to VGA. I have used long VGA runs in the past but never with my own gear. I am about to purchase two 100 ft VGA cables and I am wondering if anyone has experience with latest generation MacBook Pros and long VGA runs without repeaters.

A MacBook Pro runs well with long vga cable (I personally think 100 feet is the limit !).
The problem comes from bad quality or high resolution, or both.
You can try although cat5 ethernet cables and vga-rj45 passive baluns or active adapters. The ethernet cable is often better to carry signals over long distances and less less expensive.
