    M8+Projector+GoPro

    by controlcontrol » Mon Apr 18, 2016 4:39 pm

    Hi guys,
I'm looking for some solution to setup the following: Modul8 connected with projector + 3x image from GoPro cameras as input for Modul8 live mixing. I would like to use HDMI cables to connect all these pieces and probably I need some kind of hub/splitter to manage all of them. I would really appreciate if you can give me any pieces of advice what it could be and what if worth considering. Regards.

. i was able to run four PS Eye webcams into modul8 (https://vimeo.com/162215388 ) if that is an option for you.

. if you want to use HDMI, the V-1HD from Roland (http://proav.roland.com/products/v-1hd/ ) might be what you're looking for.

I have one more thought about possible solution in this case. Two Thunderbolts ports for projector (or two) and HDMI port as input from GoPro cameras, connected with some input splitter/hub. Any ideas?

. the Roland piece would take the three inputs and let you send one of the out the HDMI port, which you would need to capture (see below)

. the HDMI on your laptop is output only (it can not capture video)

. to capture the video, you would need something like a Black Magic capture device (https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity) but that only can capture one HDMI stream and there were be a few frames of lag (search the forums for other peoples experiences using the Black Magic capture devices)

. if you use the Advanced Output in Modul8 - you can use the thunderbolt ports for Video out (using something like this - http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Dis ... B00ESM3ISM ) or you can go to the next level and use a Matrox piece that will allow 2 or 3 outputs from a single thunderbolt connection ( http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/produ ... splayport/ )

I had a chance to use Roland V1-HD for a while and it works like a charm! I've watched out your solution – is there any option to run GoPro cameras using syphon? Honestly I'm looking for more low budget solution. Roland V1-HD is great so maybe one day.

I have the same question regarding using a gopro with syphon. Did you figure out how to do it? I Googled but couldn't find anyone doing it.
