    Fragen von einem Amerikaner

    by chi3sa » Thu Aug 06, 2009 10:18 pm

    Hello,

Ich heisse George. Ich komme aus Amerika und will einen VJ sein.

My german's okay. took it for five years.

Meine Frage ist "gibt es eine besondere VJ Schule in Deutschland? Ich will da leben und auch lernen.

I'd like to learn about Motion Media/VJing. Is there a good school there for that?
    Please let me know.
I'm a sophomore at the Savannah College of Art and Design studying Motion Media now.

    Thank you

Most of the VJs that I know (including myself) are self taught. That said there are a lot of schools in Germany that now provide some kind of 'live media' course that inevitably involves VJing.

    That said...

I know that one of the MXZEHN guys teaches something related to live media up in Weimar. You can try to contact them to find out exactly where.

We have another collegue in Mannheim who has recently become a professor for live media:

In Berlin I was invited to do a modul8 workshop at Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule GmbH. A really good facility although I think you will have to make an inquiry as to what kind of degree they offer if any.
