    grouping surfaces?

    by bc-mich » Fri Mar 07, 2014 1:19 am

    How can I 'group' surfaces?
I have about 10 of 20 surfaces I would like to manipulate as a whole, for starters just move them all together. I can highlight easily by various means, but once I 'click' and try to drag, it highlights that specific individual surface... in any screen I try. Is there a way to 'lock' a group? Scaling and other simple functions would be good to achieve too.

    thanks Xaver2k
ok, so this is the best I can do:

    1-highlight surfaces to be grouped
2-go to the box in the top right corner and enter a name (ie. bottom screens), hit 'return'
    3-un-click selection of surfaces
4-go back to the box top right, find 'bottom screens' in pull-down menu, click on it
5-selection is now grouped, I am able to move as a group

Next question: I would like to do is basic transformations to the entire selection, scale/rotate. Is this possible?

in the tube meant it's in the process of being implemented… You can group selections but you cannot rotate, skew or scale in a grouped manner yet

I am really looking forward to those functions becoming available. I will be patient as they 'come down the pipe'.
