Does Modul8 support more than one video output?

Postby garageRoot » Thu Jul 29, 2004 7:13 pm

Modul8 2.0 and above supports up to 8 outputs when using a Power Mac G5 or Mac Pro with video cards installed in each PCI expansion slot.

- You can configure the outputs by accessing 'Output > Advanced Output Setup' from the application menu.
- When using 8 outputs the Modul8 interface will be hidden after full screen is enabled. If you will need to access the Modul8 interface when using outputs it is possible to control Modul8 with another computer using the 'Network' module. The module is available in the GarageCube online module library.

- On PowerMac G5 computers it is necessary that it support PCI-X. Some earlier Power Mac G5 do not.

For further information about Advanced Output please refer to page 26 of the Documentation.

*Please note that the current documentation we provide is not yet updated to version 2.6*

it would be cool if modul8 supported free frame plugins for the A/B crossfade part... ;)

Hello

I am making this project consisting on two projectors projecting onto two screens. To the date I have used modul 8 in a very simple way and just
with one output. I have been reading in the manual that for multi projections I need a Mac Pro or G5 in order to have several graphic cards installed.
I would think there is a way to do it also with a MacBook Pro?
I found this external PCIe support for MacBook pro: http://www.macnn.com/articles/07/05/04/ ... e.support/
Would that be enough to be able to multiproject with my laptop?
Is there another or a better solution to it?

Thanks so much

This may work, I do not know actually. But I doubt that the cost of the box and a video card would justify. I would use Triple(Dual)head2Go that has much more different application. Also this Magma box connects via Expresscard that is not present in newer MBPs. And it is made 2007!!! - so it is almost ancient.

yep, it's way more flexible and it works way better than matrox.
I had to use it for an autonomous installation because we had problems with matrox that doesn't work properly when booting the computer (in order to have it working we had to unplug and replug the displays which is not an option for an autonomous thing).

It is of course great news that it is available for mac pro. Well, what about windows users? Is it compatible for windows? And does it require high level graphics cards to support it? I’m really confused over here. http://www.garciniareviews.org
