    Chauvet epix drive 640

    by Rawdogct » Thu Oct 18, 2018 1:52 am

Got 32 strips and 2 640's. Cant figure out how to map or find a profile. Been using media master but dont care for the fx or loops. Want more fixture based fx like mad mapper and not run video loops on them.

Not clear what you want to setup. You have 32 RGB strips each 2640 pixels long ?
What will you do with the strips ? Just dispose them in the space without cutting them ? In this case, you have to use the Fixture Editor (from menu Tools) to create a fixture definition of Nx1 pixels with pixel type set to RGB. Then add a fixture in your project and choose this fixture definition, and setup the right DMX address (and the correct DMX interface in Preferences / DMX Out)

No I have 32 chauvet epix strips running off of 2 epix drive 640 drivers. 16 strips per driver. each strip is 40x3(rgb)=120 pixels each. I cant get the profile right for 1 strip much less to set up all 32. Media Master sees them no problem and have run through that fine, but I don't like the control options for playback. I would rather control them more as a light fixtures, than more like a video wall.

About the "epix drive 640" driver from Chauvet: Controlled via ArKaos Kling-Net Protocol / Requires MediaMaster on Mac or PC
Chauvet did a partnership with arKaos, who developped this closed protocol Kling-Net. We can't deal with that. MadMapper supports the two standard protocol of the market: ArtNet and sACN. Only a few companies work with Kling-Net protocol.

Ok. Didnt realize it was actually a kling net only device. Would there be any work arounds you think that could work either hardware or software?
