MiniMad - Video & OSC Issues

    by tyler_840 » Tue Jul 23, 2024 6:25 pm

I have a single MiniMad connected to a Panasonic Projector.

The MiniMad stays running/powered 24/7, while the projector gets shut down. When the projector boots backup the Minimad refuses to play, and though will send Black and an EDID to the projector, it will not play. I think an EDID minder might fix this.

I can still control it thru MadMapper, but if I send it an osc command of /play, it does nothing. I have also tried /playing+1, /playing1, /playing/1/ and no commands seem to work.

I am using the TouchOSC layout and a Q-SYS OSC plugin, but it is not responsive. TouchOSC found it natively via Bonjour.

Did you try powering the MiniMad up and down together with the projector?

Yes. I have, and that generally works. However I notice if the MiniMad boots before the projector responds and starts recognizing an input, we still get stuck on a black screen.

I've tried the TouchOSC layout and cannot control the MiniMad via OSC at all. I've been using an OSC plugin for the Q-SYS control system and that is not working either.

I'll deal with the video portions, but I do need to get OSC working. Is there a log file or anything I can check on the MiniMad itself?
