How To Output Ethernet

Hi,

I have bought some LED fixtures from SGM Lights http://sgmlight.com/standard/ld-5/c-23/p-152

I want to use Madmapper to run them. I need to output ethernet to the lights with POE so was thinking that I could buy this USB DMX interface https://www.enttec.com/uk/products/cont ... n-dmx-usb/ and then bring the DMX in to this https://www.enttec.com/uk/products/cont ... t-mk2-poe/ to power and the lights with the ethernet output.

Has anyone used this same method? Is there a simpler way to do it? Am I just being a bit thick and it's definitely more straight forward than I am making out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I initially wanted to use Madrix but have changed my mind as I think Madmapper can be more utilitarian for the various things I am doing in the venue I work for and I've used it before for projections.

Thanks.

Ben.

I don't understand, you want to output DMX from the computer with a USB-DMX device and then convert the DMX to ethernet ? MadMapper can send ArtNet or SACN (dmx over network).

So if I get something to send power over Ethernet this will work straight from my laptop ethernet?

If you want to have ArtNet yes, but it looks like your device needs a physical DMX signal, not ethernet. So you could use a USB-DMX box (directly connected to the computer) or send ArtNet (ethernet dmx) from the computer and use an Enttec ODE to convert ArtNet to DMX.

Why don't you check out the connection diagram supplied by SGM? It has all the information you need to set this up!
