    Canon Rebel SL2 ( 200D ) spacial scanner

    by sputnik » Sat Jan 20, 2018 2:51 pm

I am about to get Canon Rebel SL2 ( 200D ) for potential use with Madmapper . Following your FAQ's list of compatible Canon cameras it says '' ..Canon camera models that are compatible with the Canon EDSDK version 3.6'' https://www.developersupport.canon.com/ ... ity-charts
New Canon SL2 supports ED-SDK v3.6.1 , but not ED-SDK v3.6 . My question is if Madmapper's spacial scanner is up to date with latest cameras and if would work with this camera . I would appreciate your input as one buy triggers another , I mean camera first + Madmapper.

The Canon SDK version in MadMapper 3.2.2 is EDSDK 3.6.30.0 so it should be ok.

Anyway if there's any change, updating the canon SDK is not generally a big work (not like BlackMagic crappy stuffs) so we can easiely do a new build with latest release.
    Cheers!

Good to know !. That makes it even more future proof solution for years. BTW I'm a beginner and as far as I know there is no real alternative to Madmapper's spacial scanner.
