Is it possible and if so what is the best way to set up multiple installations and have the content/video being controlled from one home base? Is there a specific network or if there a way to access different mini mads to serve content from a different location?

There is no builtin feature for that.
If you have time to spend and you feel comfortable with command line tools, since miniMAD is a linux (raspbian distribution) there are possibilities. I know there was a post somewhere that explain how to do so, but after changing content folder remotely the miniMAD video process has to be restarted so it rescans media folder. Maybe someone can give more information.

Thanks for the reply. I feel like there absolutely has to be a way to do it im just not sure how. I will look into the system you mentioned though and if you have any other suggestions id love to know.
