    Changing Light Properties?

    by jhamonemillion » Wed Mar 06, 2019 1:37 pm

    Hi all.
I've been playing around with the demo and importind 3d models into MadMapper. It looks great, but I was wondering if it is possible to change the shape of the light? Right now it's a spherical light which radiates as you'd expect one to - is there a way to make this more of a slit of light etc?

    Thanks!

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm assuming this isn't possible, but I'm also guessing that this might be "quite" trivial to implement for garageCube on the programming side, as there is already the whole 3D engine in there. Might be more of a Touch Designer thing, but being able to mask and/or change the shape of the light source would be really cool.

There is no such option. In a future release it will be possible to write custom shaders for the rendering, so, except for shadows, one could write his lighting code, and we could add parameters. It's possible now but undocumented and a custom FX might break in future releases...
