    Understanding Spacial Scanning Tool

    by AlluringSkull » Fri Jan 17, 2020 6:30 pm

Hello everyone, I am new to mad and have really been enjoying learning about the software, its vast power, and flexibility. I recently hooked up a webcam to test the spacial scanner. Turned out terrible of coarse because of the webcam, it was a proof of concept more than anything else. But it made me wonder what are the advantages of mapping on a scan vs mapping on a photo of the image from the exact same angle? I know its probably a dumb question but I cannot find many resources on the subject so I figured Id ask here. Thanks in advance!

basically it goes (way) beyond a simple picture (with which your won't have a precise view of your projector), the spacial scanner allows you to use your projector as a scanner, to actually capture, pixel by pixel, what your projector “sees”, its much more precise and useful
