Hello madmapper user,
Here i share my workflow for doing projection mapping on a 3d car model .
The purpose is to made a projection on a car .
I made the setup with a viewsonic M1 projector by projecting on a real 3d model of a car ( scale 1/5).
I made a spatial scanner wich fit prefectly with the real 3d model by projecting it throw madmapper.
I have made a .obj of the model in c4d.
So now , i import the image of the spatial scanner in C4d.
I use the calibrator camera tag to find the place of the camera (videoprojector) and type of lens.
all project ( mad mapper , c4d , spatial scanner) are in 1920x1080.
i use a canon 5d with a 50 mm fixe angle .
C4d find something , but the problems start:
impossible to place my model on the spatial scanner image.
is the place of PIN wich is needed to find the distance of the camera important ?
where to put in the image of the spatial scanner ?
it seems that i don't have the correct lens distortion and . the image looks very distorted
so my questions :
is the type of projector , panasonic M1 ( Objectif: F = 1,7, f = 5,5 mm - throw ratio: 1.2 ) a probleme ?
is the place of the videoprojector a probleme ? it is placed about 1m80 high , the model is about 1m hight and seen 3/4 view)
what is the correct lens of a spatial scanner ?
i try to import directly the .obj file into madmapper to fit with calibrate system inside madmapper ...the problems occurs again .
impossible to have a correct lens distorsion .
any help will be precious !
