    Enhanced MadMapper Features

    by AEK_98 » Mon May 25, 2020 8:35 pm

    Hi,
I would like to expand the capabilities of MadMapper. Are there any third-party developers who create effects (FX) and generative graphics (material) that will be compatible with MadMapper?

    Best regards,
    Andrey.

    Hi Andrey,

There is a material library within MadMapper - a great place to find more materials, plus improving the library is definitely one of the team's focus

Also, there is the support for Syphon and Spout input - nice way to go further (for instance in combination with your work from Modul8 or After Effects)

Thanks Benoit. Yes, we know about the ability to connect MadMapper with other applications through NDI or SPOUT (we work in a Windows). But, this way to live performances is not very convenient. I would like to use the effects built into MadMapper. A very good role model - Resolume marketplace - Juicebar.

    Best regards,
    Andrey.

    Hi Andrey,

For live performance, using Modul8 with MadMapper (spyphon or spout) is great, as both are made for live performance.
For other connected applications, it may be less convenient...
Still, the protocol is a good way to go further,
    Otherwise there's Material library..

Yes, maybe Modul8 is a good option.
But, again, we work in a Windows environment where there is no Modul8.

    Hi,
We plan to add FX to the online library, and editable inside MadMapper. That won't be in 4.0, but that shouldn't be too long to come.
Actually, it's possible to write FXs but there is no documentation and we don't guarantee compatibility with future releases.
If you have a specific case you'd like to solve, don't hesitate to request.
    Cheers

    Good plans. Thanks you, mad-matt.
As one of the wishes - pay attention to this plugin. It seems to me that being able to make 3D slice is a good complement to MM capabilities.

Looking at the video, it doesn't looks so easy to use. The 3D OBJ and calibration features in MadMapper looks easier to use. In MadMapepr 4 (from beta 11) we added the possibility to use Trilinear, Linear and Spherical texture mapping so even if the OBJ filehas no UVs you can map visuals to it in creative manners. But all ideas are welcome !
    Cheers
