Perpetual Licenses?

I just noticed that licenses are "Perpetual" - does that mean they include upgrades or do you still have to pay the upgrade cost? Is this a new thing? We own a ton of licenses so trying to figure out what our cost(s) will be when 4.0 comes out and we want to upgrade.

licenses are perpetual which means you only need to pay for them once - you'll own the license for life.
Updates within a version are always free, but if a major version is released (e.g. MadMapper 4) then it's a paid upgrade.
While knowing that nothing obliges you to upgrade to the latest version, your current version will continue to work normally
