Surface snap to 3d model vertex

    by bernielomax » Fri Dec 04, 2020 3:48 am

    Hi everyone.
I am a 3dsmax user and I made a bunch of boxes stacked all together. I managed to import and align the OBJ model into madmapper soo easy that it was impressive. Now, I need to create new quad surfaces that SNAP to that model vertices.... Is it possible?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
We don't handle snapping to 3D surface vertices, it would be a mess with complex 3D Obj with thousands of vertices.
You can create a line surface from vertices (right click 3D surface => Create Lines From Surface Outlines). That offers cool programming possibilities but that won't help with snapping because for the same reason (line surface many handles), snapping works on lines only while they are being edited.
You'll have to zoom to adjust you quad handles.
    Cheers
    Matt
