SURFACES OVER/ADD BLEND MODE MADMAPPER4

Hello,

I would like to simply project a video loop (place in Quad-2 with blend mode set to Add or Over) with a any background generators, materials or videos (place in Quad-1)
The desire behavior is to see the content of the video clearly with the black video background replaced by the content set in Quad-2. Like a whatever video editing software, instead I see the content of the video in semi-transparency

I searched on internet but I founded only YouTube channel tutorial related MadMapper3. I tried it but in MadMapper4 the result is different. The black color of background in video is transparent (and this is ok) but the rest of video content is semi-transparent and I glimpse the Quad-1.

I also did a test with only built-in generators:
- Quad-2 ColorPatterns (blend mode set to Add or Over, I tried whole blend modes)
- Quad-1 TestCard
The result is the same. I glimpse testCard image where there is ColorPatterns.

How can I obtain the result like a whatever video editing software?

Thanks!

to remove the black background from your foreground video,
either use an alpha channel and compliant codec such as hap-alpha
or apply the luma key filter and key out the black values.

Thank you Franz. But my problem is more simple I think. The background is already removed and this is ok.
But is the foreground the issue. I see the surface below.
Which is the correct blend mode to show the foreground of the last surface (Quad-2)?

In attached there are 2 example of the problem.

Thank you.
Roberto.

you should use over blend mode then.

Thanks Franz, But:
- If I use OVER blend mode I can't view in the background color the surface below.
- If I use ADD blend mode I can't view clearly the foreground of surface Quad-2 it is in semitransparent.
