Dear mappers,

We're thrilled to announce you that from today you can BETA test the upcoming MadMapper version 5.2!

It's full of laser goodies (Laser 3d surfaces, Laser generators, Laser projector delay), it brings Xbox controller support, depth masker (Kinect One) update, dmx csv import, a new Preferences panel, PONK support, color profiles for NDI/FFmpeg and much more!

Download the BETA directly from your user account on the MadMapper website and of course feel free to share your feedback or bug report to support@madmapper.com

MadMapper 5.2 BETA Release notes

-DMX Fixtures CSV import: handle fixture name & group hierarchy
-Added support for Kinect ONE (v2) on Windows, macOS Intel & macOS Silicon (M1) & improved Kinect Masker generator
-Added support for Intel RealSense on Windows (works on macOS versions up to Monterey)
-Added support for Xbox controllers (wired and bluetooth on Windows, bluetooth only on macOS)

-MadLaser: added Laser Generators - Polyline Mixer, Countdown & Text Generators
-MadProjectorControl: Added projector lamps lifetime info

IMPROVEMENTS
-Quad & Laser Quad: When adding / removing mesh warping points or generating a mesh grid in bezier mode, preserve transformation as much as possible
-Improved media sampling on surfaces (black outside media rectangle while preserving pixel perfect mapping)
-Revamped Preferences dialog with new Startup section
Improved UI-state restoration, now saved in project as well

FIXES
-Fixed MIDI port naming when using multiple devices (annoying with MIDI Out module & feedback device assignment)
-Fixed game-controllers Y axis being upside-down
-Fixed a crash when exporting to MiniMad on macOS 10.13
-Fixed AVFoundation video-inputs not functioning when reconnected

A MadMapper 5 license is required to use this Beta version

(Don't forget that this is a BETA version, so use at your own risk if you're in production)

We hope you'll love it!

Enjoy!

The MAD Team

Beta 2 isn't loading for me. It's crashing immediately on the splash screen. (Windows 10 pro). I don't have any issues with Beta 1.

I think yopu should try running MadMapper Beta 2 in compatibility mode for a previous version of Windows. Right-click on the MadMapper executable file, go to "Properties," navigate to the "Compatibility" tab, and select an earlier version of Windows.
