External triggers and parallel events

Hi,

I am new here and have a project for which I would like to use madmapper.
We are building a narrow diagonal led panel that follows the angle of some stairs.
In the stairs we put sensors so that we can detect steps.
We convert this to keyboard key presses (could also be network messages if that is easier).
I would like to use madmapper to trigger an animation for each step. (for example, fireworks shooting up from that step).

Is it possible to trigger an animation from an event like keypress/ network message and is it then possible to run these animations in parallel so that they overlay eachother. This meaning that putting your foot on the next step does not end the previous animation.

Thanks in advance,

Matthijs

Found an answer to a part of my question.
We can use the Arduino/ Firmata library to easily trigger animations.

You can also assign keyboard keys to trigger cues. If you use MadMapper 6 beta version, you can trigger timelines that animate parameters. But still in beta, final release beginning on 2025
