Mapping a Cyclorama with 3 Projectors - Tips Needed!

    by VASimon » Tue Apr 29, 2025 9:54 pm

    Hi all!

I'm doing my first mapping this Thursday on a cyclorama (15m x 10m x 6m) and would love any advice you might have
Setup:- 3x Barco G100 projectors (short throw lenses)
    - madMapper for mapping, visuals from TouchDesigner via Spout
    - Visuals: walls have same continuous (3840×1200) and floor it´s own separate (1920×1200)

Attached pictures of the cyclorama and of my blender model + the uv-unwrap

My plan is to to use three quads, mesh-warp them to fit the surfaces, and manually edge blend.

I looked into using an OBJ of the Cyclorama but apparently you can´t do this with short throw lenses.
Also UVs were tricky to get right, and edge blending 3 projectors over an OBJ feels risky for my first show
Does this sound like a good plan, or should I reconsider using an OBJ?
    - Any tips for manual edge blending on curved surfaces like this?
    - Any common mistakes or pitfalls I should watch out for?

Thankful for all tips about this!
    /Simon
