    Running Smoothly in MadMapper

by Matt Starr » Mon Aug 01, 2011 2:42 pm

I've used Photo JPEG, H. 264, PNG files, and no matter what I do, there always seems to be some sort of lag with my videos, a bit choppy.

Any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

    Thanks,

PhotoJpeg is good if you want to scrub the file.
    If not, H264 is ok.
What is the resolution of your footage ?
If the footage is too big, maybe there's a disk problem.
Are you using a SSD or a regular HD ?
What's the RPM of your drive ?
What is the size of your footage ?

Note that the video might look choppy in MadMapper interface, because the refresh rate is lower that the output's refresh rate, on purpose, to save you some performance.
Are you witnessing choppyness on the "real" projector output as well ?

We are experiencing the same problem.
    The file we use is 1800 x 1800 h264
We are on a brand new iMac quadcore with ssd drive

The file is sent to madmapper thru modul8
If we close madmapper the video is much smoother

The output result is choppy but not that much in the preview window of madmapper but it maybe because the projection surface is pretty big

    any Ideas?
    thanks
    Dan

if you load the file directly into MadMapper, is it still choppy ?
