    Hi!

I just wondered if you have done any more work on the (hidden) MIDI function in Madmapper?
I would really love to see midi triggering of presets and media in Madmapper :)

    Best regards

    Hi!

I found a little way to switch between presets with MIDI.
The only drawback is that you can only step down or up in the preset list.

Go to http://www.charlie-roberts.com/midiStroke/ and download MIDISTROKE .
Its a little, free program that let you map MIDI to keystrokes.

WIth this you can assign the UP and DOWN button on your keyboard to a MIDI-controller and shift up and
down in the presetlist in Madmapper with your favourite controller :)

    Works like a charm!

Hey this might just be an overkill but I have NI Maschine and I can set the knobs to have a range of 1 - 127 so if i have 5 presets i can do 1- 5 and it shows what number you are Ni maschine as a midi controler is amazing as it gives you great deal of flexibility, I use it for modul8, madmapper, and ableton live almost at the same time.

so like i said it might be an over kill but definitely does the job really well.

But yes I would love if madmapper had options to trigger presets individually so i can press a pad on mc apc40 or maschine and jump to that preset will allow me to be so much more creative and fast..

Can't you send CC values per button on an APC40 ?
From Ableton Live I can already control MM's presets, so using an APC40 instead shouldn't be problematic.
(I don't have an APC at hands so I can't test it, sorry)

You Can but MM doesnt take just one cc value for preset as it only allows you to map the Select preset function not individual presets (I THINK) I do wanna do some more tests on and see what exact value does Osculator recieve when the knob is on a specific position maybe i can program a button to send that value that ways mapping the individual preset.

    Will Keep you guys posted.

you can assign "Select Preset" to a midi CC.
Let's say for instance MidiCC 10 on Channel 1.

If you send MidiCC 10 value 1, MM will select the preset 1.
Send CC value 10, MM will select preset 10.
So you actually can trigger specific presets with MidiCC value.

So you could program a button that send Midi CC 10 value 1
and another button that sends Midi CC 10 value 15 for example.

But it works as well with Note value, using the velocity to select a preset.
So you could have a button to send Midi Note XX (pick whichever you want) velocity 10 - which would select preset 10 -

I hope this helps clear things a little bit. Keep in mind that we don't support midi officially yet and things might change in the future.

    Hey ho!

I got trouble with the latency of my iPad/Lemur in Modul8. At the point I opened Madmapper (1.3 or 1.4), the controller speed of my Modul midi mapping slowed enormously down... I activated the (unofficial) midi mapping with David´s terminal script, described in this post.
With a complete deinstallation of madmapper (delete all application files in library) I solved the problem. now I (we) have to wait for the official unlock of midi mapping in mad mapper....
    So check this:

[...]Thank you for your follow up. The MIDI implementation in MadMapper has its problems, hence the fact that you have to enable it through the terminal. The fact that it is causing a conflict as you have found out yourself is a testament. It will be implemented properly in the future.

Glad to know that things are working as they should now.

You have a great weekend as well.

    Kind regards,

    hey guys,

I tried to configure the presets to th iPad via touch osc. Where can I chnage the value in touch osc editor?
I have to use a Push button, right?

    Var: x
    Channel: maybe 3
    Number: maybe 1
    Range: 1 to 127

    But where is a value?
    What I'm doing wrong?

    You should
    YES Use a Push Button
and also the Range should be of one value in both "from" and "to" value, as shown in the pic i have attached.
That should work. The idea is to send One value in the image i have uploaded it will trigger the 2nd preset .

    Cheers.

Thanks, but you send OSC messages over OSCulator right?

I want to do it without OSC over Core MIDI, does it work? What I have to do in this case?

    - Download and open Touch OSC Bridge. ( on your Mac )
    - Open Touch OSC on your Ipad / Iphone / Ipod
    - Select midi Bridge and By now the name of your mac will appear on your device, if your Mac and your device are on the same Wireless network.
    - Select the name and go back but dont press done yet.
    - now goto your mac open the Touch OSC Editor and import the attached file.
    Madmapper.touchosc.zip
Basic 4 buttons for preset change.
    (776 Bytes) Downloaded 478 times

and Send it to your device. Select it as your layout and then press done and open madmapper.

    - open midi mapping
    select target as preset.
    property as select preset
and click on Add and then click on learn and click any button on your device.

and thats about it now you can build more buttons in your editor following the same settings as used in previous buttons.

    Hope this helps
