    Volume?

    by Basic » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:19 pm

    Hey Guys,

Is it possible when playing a QT with both audio and video that you can mute the audio whilst still having the video playing?

    Cheers

There is a manual that will answer all of the basic question you have. there are options for Clip volume, master volume in, and master volume out. All visible in the interface.

cvanhoose, you are referring to Modul8 and the question is in the MadMapper forum…

My eyes were crossed. Maybe I was confused, Modul8---> Madmapper is a necessity configuration for me, I would never use mad mapper stand-alone to play sequences or loop.

Interesting comment cvanhoose, any reason for this? I plan on creating an AV installation piece that loops continously. I have no need to use modul8 this time - although i use this for every gig.

I need playback and mapping capabilities. Ive been looking unto milimuin and even though i love it, the mapping just isnt quite there yet.

    What would you do?

Oh yeah i was a little confused looking for volume haha.

    Cheers

Cool. I retract my previous post.
I am misunderstanding. There is no audio options in the interface. If your audio is not needed you could mute the computers System audio. But if its a setup where you are going to use madMapper alone, and you are going to to drop in several different clips manually or script - some with audio, some without - THEN you would have to edit your movie clips and delete the audio tracks with an AV software.
    +1 for the wish list

its ok, i dont think i explained myself properly either.

Muting the speakers is of course possible but having the ablility to mute audio in MM itself would be useful.

The project i am working on is an 8 minute standalone AV piece, it will not be performed live it will just be played back. It will all be prerended and in a .MOV file. My reason for wanting to use MM is that i will be projection mapping this piece onto a structure i have produced.

So my 2 main goals are..

    Playback
    Mapping

and thats all really. I have looked into milumin and also Resolume Arena and/or Res 3 & Millium.
But i want to continue garagecube software.

    Cheers

I really do not see the Pro to having the control for audio. You can only have one playback source at a time in madmapper. And you either need audio or not. The system volume is a mapped key on the keyboard in most cases.
Maybe you are midi into madMapper and want to control the volume via Controller?

We'll disagree to agree on this one. I find it would be a good useful feature.

Yeah I didnt realise at first then i noticed this. Shame really i thought it worked on a layer based program. still its a good solid program so far. im still demo-ing.
