Madmapper & Enttec Open DMX USB

    by mupp17 » Tue Apr 22, 2014 8:50 pm

    Hello,

is it possible to connect Madmapper with the Enttec Open DMX USB?
Or is it only possible with the Enttec DMX USB Pro?

    Thanks for your answer!

    Best regards,

I recently did this. It works fine but not always out of the box.

You need to install these drivers.

Enttec Open USB DMX is not actually supported (as of 3.5.1). It's not as reliable as Enttec Pro box and we don't want to make users life complicated. Since MadMapper 3.0 (if I remember well), MadMapper supports both FTDI drivers (Simple Serial-VCP & D2XX) so it should always work: whether you use the default macOS driver (VCP) or if you installed the D2XX driver, same for Windows (except I think the driver is not installed by default on the system)

    Dear Mad-Matt,

With the Enttec pro box you mean the Enttec DMX USB Pro Interface or the Enttec DMX USB Pro MK2 Interface?

    Thanks in advance

Both Enttec DMX USB Pro & Enttec DMX USB Pro MK2 are supported (Mk2 is compatible with Pro)
Any Enttec Pro compatible USB DMX device is ok too (for instance DMX King eDMX2 Pro: https://dmxking.com/artnetsacn/edmx2-pro)
