3d led cube content programming

Hello,

I hope this somehow fits into this forum.

Im planing to bild an led cube out of individually addressable led strips.

Now im trying to program animations for it synced to music and im wondering if there is any good way or tool that would make it easier to create these animations in 3d space. So far i was preparing things in after effects but keeping all the layers (it is supposed to be 9x9x60) in sync is kind of tricky especially when having a flat layout that would allow to map the output to leds.

Any comments highly appreciated.

Cheers
Michael

Hey Michael. I'm also curious if anyone has suggestions about mapping in 3D. I just finished building a volumetric LED grid and had to write a custom animation system in processing to get animations happening through the lights.

Is there an off the shelf solution for 3D texture mapping?

I was now thinking about playing around with cinema 4d and than rendering the layers individually out. But would be nice it there would be an easier way.

i haven't used it, but Madrix apparently has support for 3D mapping and animations --

Madrix is amazing for LED lightning. Their tutorials are quite clear so 3D building won't cause much troubles at least when I need thesis help it could not have come at a better time.
