    ~18% CPU usage when idle

    by Andymann » Tue Aug 11, 2015 10:01 am

    Hi everybody,

I just had a look at the new MadMapper version and realized that it consumes ~18% CPU even when there is no activity at all (same behaviour as with 1.xx). When being operated the workload increases accordingly. This seems to be Independent from the machine it's running on.

I know I won't be able to go big with my Hardware (13" early 2011 mbp) but even if I had the latest, best, fastest Hardware I'd wonder if there's anything I could do against this behaviour.

    Best regards,
    Andy

We assume that during a show you won't be doing and 3d rendering or CPU intensive task, so 18% should be ok.
Also, keep in mind that for a dual-core CPU with hyper threading, that's 18% out of 400% isn't ?

    Hi Franz,

thx for the response (and sry for me reacting that late; forgot to check the 'notify' box).
Of course, from an absolute point of view there is no problem with that behaviour. I wasjust curious, more or less.
(And somehow there is this senseless desire to keep a CPU as idle as possible (no irony). ... don't know where that comes from :) )

MadMapper 2.2.1 will reduce CPU usage when MadMapper shouldn't do much (if no movie, camera or Syphon is playing, just images, or even no surface at all)
