    Led Fixture Response Slider

    by piotrus04 » Wed Sep 12, 2018 9:51 am

    Hi all,
Is there anyone knowing what exactly does the Response slider ?

Is it a sort of Gamma slider ?
to the left, is it perfectly linear ? and to the right logarithmic ?

Garage cube team : what is the exact equation you use ?
It doesn't seem to be perfectly linear if the slider is set to 0% ...

That could be a problem when we need to remote motors in dmx for example by a simple color value, or any hacked use...

Yes, yes & yes. Each LED hardware have a response curve, generally around 50% of the slider.

We use rgb = pow(rdb, response). When
    slider is at 0%, response=1,
    slider at 33%, response=2
    slider at 66%, response=3
    slider at 100%, response=4

If you want more precise control you can write an expression for each component in the fixture definition, it will be integrated in the fragment shader executed by the GPU, for more info there are some examples here viewtopic.php?t=10178
