Datapath - Recognition of individual outputs

How does one make the individual HDMI outputs of a Datapath appear to Madmapper instead of just the Displayport Out from a GPU? I feel like I am missing something because I have been able to do this before yet seem to unable to do it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edge blending without this feature is quite cumbersome as I have 12 HD outputs in a 3x4 orientation.

Can you tell datapath all screens are spitted horizontally ? (4x1 x 1920x1080 = 7680x1080) This would work I think. But if you make it a 2x2 we should check the EDID to know it's a datapath and not a 4k projector, which is not done yet.

With 7680x1080 (or x1200) the FX4 is recognized as TH2Go and splits into 3 separate displays of 2560x1080... MM V3.7.0

for performance reasons it might be beneficial on windows to output to only ONE big screen and let the datapath do the splitting.
That way you'll reduce the draw calls sent to your graphics card -> better performance

Is there any more info you can add to assist me with this? I need to split to two projectors and have them 'appear' in madmapper as separate displays. I've setup the FX4 as a 3840 x 1080, 2 x 1 but I only get one display output in madmapper. When I used TH2go it would show as separate displays which I find easier to edge blend and map.

Is the trick to make FX4 a 3 x1 instead of 2 x 1 and then it will trick it into thinking it's a tripplehead2go??

I'm on v3.7 so haven't quite got round to v5 yet FYI

thanks!

Form some later version of MadMapper, it will propose, for datapath devices, or anything at least 4k, to split into sub-screens, so you can map a MadMapper video output to each sub sections of the system display.
Please try with MadMapper 5 demo version and see if it helps.

So, I’m now on madmapper v5 and have it connected up to fx4. Strangely, the madmapper outputs tab is allowing me to split the native MacBook screen into for sub sections but the external device (fx4) is still only showing as a single 1080p display.

I’ve tried setting up the FX4 as a 1:2 and a 1:3 using its own wall designer software but still its recognised as a single screen by madmapper.

Any help welcome! (I’m suspect it’s something I need to do on the wall designer software itself?)

Yes anything that has a resolution that could possibly be a 4x4 split will have this option.

What's the resolution of the display at macOS level ? A 1080p too I suppose ? It should appear at a 4k in both macOS & MadMapper.

Still really struggling! No matter how I configure the data path FX4 with its wall designer software, max os still sees it as a 1920x1080 60hz (and madmapper).

I’m using latest version of everything. I’ve been fiddling like mad!

I’m using an hdmi cable into the fx4. Is it possible I should be using the DisplayPort input instead? I seem to remember something about only that being able to handle 4K? Only thing I can think of….

Thanks

But what resolution does your OS sees ?

Mac OS always sees it as 1080p

If the OS sees the Datapath as a 1080p display, you have to look why this is happening in your Datapath configuration & macOS display settings.
You have to get a 4k display in the OS or there's no way MadMapper could send a 4k output there...

Ok I’ll keep trying. Maybe I’ll post in a data path forum as it’s more an issue that side than madmapper. By all means jump in any fellow datapath madmapper users :)

I edge blended on the datapath in the end which works ok so not the end of the world I guess.
