The lack of learning materials cheapens MadMapper

Why would you build a software with so many features and not create a manual. I'm guessing people try it and unsubscribe, like will after this project. I like the software, and would continue to use, but find myself looking up how to do things in a comically unproductive way. I saw a part of a manual somewhere once for updates on scenes & cues, but can't find it. I guess I'll go stab in the dark some more. Venting sesh over - lmb

Laughable response to a genuine concern. This software looked so promising but it will clearly never match up to the competition with attitude like this.

I know that the OP came at you with a bit of attitude, but the concern they expressed is 100% legitimate. I've been using MM for about 4 years now for live events and I have only been able to master a limited set of features. Complex mapping is still a struggle and it is mostly due to the lack of a manual.

The problem with the video tutorials is that they cram a LOT of info into short segments, so I need to watch them over and over again to understand basic concepts. I need a reference document that I can read at my own speed to gain an understanding of all the features. I am a proud promoter of Garagecube and both Modul8 & MadMapper, but I'm frustrated by the lack of documentation.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hire a technical writer to create a user manual for this powerful, complex program.

having a descent MM manual is a real concern for us.
We're on it .... but that thing takes ages.

Did the doc folder move? https://madmapper.com/doc/cues/ is broken, and so is https://madmapper.com/doc/materials/

Indeed links from the previous website are dead now,
Ressources such as PDF guides (including scenes and cues) are available here : https://madmapper.com/madmapper/tutorials
There are MiniMad and MadLaser ressources on their pages too
Such documentation is also available directly within MadMapper (Help menu)

I found the Udemy course "Projection Mapping for beginners using MadMapper" by Wayne Sables the best way to learn the MM UI (as well as the MM YouTube videos). Its not perfect and he can be a little annoying but he covers the basics quite well.

The MM OSC Channels guide is particular poor (its just a list of parameters for an old version of MM!). It needs some discussion about how OSC works and what you can do with it. Also trying to get into writing GLSL shaders is an uphill task!

In order to get help on OSC, the best would be to create a dedicated topic on the forum

For the MadMapper UI there is a complete PDF guide available on the website (or directly through the MadMapper Help Menu), same for shaders there's the "realtime reactive visuals" PDF guide (and the associated video tutorial on the Youtube channel). This last one is pretty helpful to start coding shaders
