Hello,

I wanted to use a watchdog to start and restart madMapper in case it crashes, but this is not working as multiple instances may be run in parallel. So is there any possibility to avoid madMapper starting multiple instances?

You should use another tool. I already test a few ones but I don't remember, so I can't advise you one. But here are some links:

And suggest to implement a switch in the configuration of madMapper like it is included in VLC: "Allow only one instance".
