FastLed Serial Two Line Potential Bug?

    by aidanlincoln » Tue Dec 10, 2019 10:55 pm

    Hello,

I have two led screens being controlled led artnet to usb led with a Teensy 3.2 + Octo adapter running "FastLED-serial-only-two-lines" one ethernet connection is coming out of each octo port and sent to one screen.

When each screen has a mapping full of color, illuminating every pixel, everything is working properly. However, when one screen has a lot of black / empty pixels in the mapping, it is pulling the mapping from the other data line and filling the empty pixels with the wrong data.

In the 1st video and screenshot (Mapping1, https://youtu.be/fASSGlLdWm0), you can see one screen is running a rainbow animation, the other is running the white line animation, as the white lines move, the rainbow colors get pulled onto the screen until the white lines overwrite them. When I turn off the rainbow display, the issue no longer occurs.

Additionally, when I remove all of the universe mappings for the second data line except for one universe, the entire second screen plays the animation from the first screen (except for the mapped universe) on all of the fixtures that are no longer mapped to any universe. (Mapping 2, https://youtu.be/ED-01hpVtko ).

I am at a loss for why this behavior is occurring, my best guess is that there is an issue in the FastLED-serial-only-two-lines program. The only lines I updated were setting the data pins, led counts, and defining the strips.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,
    Aidan

Indeed there was an issue with the two-lines sketch. I just fixed it, please redownload the ZIP: https://www.madmapper.com/download/madl ... _files.zip
