Hi All,
We have begun a major 10 projector, 5.1 audio, art installation going live next week and have run into a brick wall in regards to outputting 5.1 surround from Madmapper 3.7.4 or Madmapper 4.0.0 Beta 7. We're hoping there is something fundamental that we're overlooking as everything I've read in this forum suggests that multichannel audio should just work out of the box in these versions.
We have setup a Yamaha surround amp sending 5.1 audio from a Windows 10 PC using a HDMI cable.
This has been setup correctly and is Playing 5.1 videos from VLC or Windows Media Player with no issue.
When we bring the same video files into Madmapper and play them they only play out of the front speakers. Checking the audio preferences debug it says the active audio output device has 2 audio channels.
Hitting show info in the video properties in Madmapper verifies an audio channel count of 6.
We have also tried using the Audio Player module in 4.0.0 Beta 7 (despite warnings about using it for production) which confirms a channel count of 6 but the output only seems to have 2.
We have tried multiple 5.1 videos and audio from different sources and in different formats to no avail.
We have tried all possible combinations of settings in the audio preferences including different sample rates and buffer sizes.
We've also tried the regedit command prompt hack, mentioned in this forum for earlier versions as a last resort.
Returning home from a week of attempts on site we tested it on a different Windows 10 PC with a Marrantz Surround Amp and a bunch of different files and are getting the exact same results. 5.1 working fine on the computer but not in either versions of Madmapper.
I'm hoping there is a fundamental step in setting up 5.1 for Madmapper on PC which we are unaware of.
Has anyone had achieved 5.1 output in Windows 10? If so any advice would be life saving at this point.
Thanks in Advance,
Joseph
