    Multi videoproiectors recognize problems

    by Fabioquiet » Thu Mar 05, 2020 3:02 pm

Hello everyone. we have recently encountered problems with madmapper and multi-projection with the same projectors. The problem is that when we turn the mac back on with madmapper, it is no longer able to recognize the identity of the projector and it happens that the contents created for projector 1 are attributed to projector 2 etc. It seems that having the same name as the projectors, madmapper can no longer understand the identity of each projector and reverses the outputs. Have any of you had the same problem? Any solution?
    Thank you

Are screens flipped at macOS level ? Or just in MadMapper ?
Actually MadMapper has an algorithm to re-attach the projectors in a project file to the ones that were attached when file was saved. For instance on Windows in 4.0 we use the hardware serial number returned through EDID because Windows sometimes flips the screens after restart, but if the hardware doesn't return a serial number we rely to screen position at OS level).
On macOS our first test is to find back the attached projectors using the connection path, simplified it would be /gpu_0/hardware_connection_0. There might be conditions where it fails. Can you give precise hardware report ? and system version ?
