I have noticed the same issue when downloading MiniMAD images from Yourspace. It seems to happen 50% of the time. I usually just keep trying, eventually it works.

Sounds like an issue or limitation with the file hosting, as opposed to something client-side, as I've experienced this in each of my last two homes and with different computers, months apart.

The file is huge...

If the download fails at some point the downloaded .img disk will ne useless indeed,

when it happen I download again making sure the system wont switch to sleep mode
