    masks as screens

    by JasonTschantre » Fri Sep 23, 2011 6:40 pm

    I have a simple question:

    Is it possible to create a mask in MM, and then use that mask as a screen unto itself? (rather than simply "cutting-out" that shape from a quad or triangle?

    The whole app would seem a lot cooler if I could figure out how to do that.

    Perhaps I would understand masks a little better if someone could give me a brief rundown of what the options "over pre-multiplied" "over" "add" and "ignore alpha" are best suited for.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    it´s posible, but it doesn´t make a "Hole" into your projection.

    So you can mask something, no light will come through.

    But you can´t fill it with another content.

    This is on the Wish List for the next Version of MM .

    I hope i explained it properly.

    Act without doing; work without effort. Think of the small as large and the few as many. Confront the difficult while it is still easy;
    accomplish the great task by a series of small acts.
