    Keeping quads straight

    by technomorph » Thu Oct 27, 2011 12:25 pm

I've looked all around but can't find/figure out how to do the following.
I must be missing something easy.

I know you can quickly scale the Quad by grabbing the top arrow in the top center of the quad.

But often the "auto" quad size is different than your source or your output.

How can I do just "vertical" or just "horizontal" scaling. Kind of like when you hold option in Photoshop and drag the side or top line.

I've tried selecting say the Top Left and Top Right points and then moving them up, but often I end up shifting to the left or to the right a bit
and it ends up skewing the image a bit. There's got a be a easier way to pull out any side of a quad.

    thanks

So far, to scale in only one direction, you would have to select both handles and move then.
The "auto" sizing of quads is view dependent:
it will try to fill up the Preview Output window (according to your current zoom level) while retaining the original Input texture ratio.

New update of MadMapper will feature a billboard mode for quads, that will allow you to do this very easily.
