I connected a Kinect for the first time and it seemed to work OK- I saw an image and got the Mad Doubler to work. Student walked in and I had to stop.

Restarted the computer, and now KinectMasker does not show up in the preferences for Mad Doubler, and the kinect does not show any data. It is connected however as I can change the tilt of the Kinect from the KinectMasker program.

Any thoughts?

Silly question, but did you try a power cycle on the kinect? The power adapter is needed. Tilt control will work without power adapter, no picture.
Maybe meter the adapter to see if it is sending current if you have that ability.

Sorry, just saw this old post and realised I had not replied. Yep, all plugged in. I have some success nowadays but it is still unreliable- of course it was always called a beta...so.
