VLC (ish) to MadMapper?

Is there a way to do it? Trying to fit straight movie output to a smaller wall than my projector can scale down to at the distance I'm at (entirely due to a sloping ceiling and the projector's height). Would like to use something similar to VLC and run it into madmapper. So I guess I would need some sort of syphon output in a movie player program. Does anyone have any ideas, my googlefu seems to be lackin in this case.
