Running MM from an iMac - a simple question

After figuring out a few basics with MadMapper - creating different textures on cardboard boxes, layers, etc - (working on a spatial scan image) - I tried projecting my collage back onto the objects. For some reason, the only way I can get MM to project properly onto the objects is if I run it in "Full screen on Main Screen".
Should I not turn on display mirroring from my iMac?
How can I edit, fine-tune lines, etc - access the input/output panels - while projecting live. With mirrored display from my iMac I just see the MM work areas projected.
This is a video I just made. Again, the only way I could get it to sort of work was to run it full screen. I'd like to be able to edit some things - but can't do it fullscreen mode. I know I'm missing glaringly obvious! Thanks for any ideas.

Mirroring should be turned off.

With mirroring turned off I can't see either MadMapper or Modul8.
I use an older model iMac, (2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo). My computer is connected to my projector (ViewSonic PJD6531w) via VGA output jack to HDMI in on the projector.
Turning mirroring on is the only way I'm able to see my desktop projection.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Why would you use a Desktop projection? When you enable full screen the output of MadMapper is supposed to take over the output of the display device attached to your computer. This way you can continue to have control of the interface.

Now it's working properly. Thank you!
