Enttec dmx usb pro not found

    by menoTV » Sun Mar 31, 2013 12:21 am

Installed both drivers, the ones on enttec site and fro the FTDI site.

usb pro utility connects to the pro fine and i am outputting DMX using that.

When i select usb pro in MM for my dmx output there is nothing in the dropdown menu for madmapper interface.

Do the drivers support 10.8? the file its in only mentions 10.5-10.7. Is that the problem? -is 10.,8 not supported?

    Thanks

are you using the MKII version or the original ?
if using the MKII, please try to install the original drivers (v1) and see how it goes.

We've tryied successfully the Entec USB DMX Pro MKII at the office using the latest FTDI drivers, and it was working nicely.
It was under 10.6.8 tho', so unfortunately I can't provide any info on 10.8. We'll look into this issue ASAP.
Please contact the support if the problem persists.

it should work with the original as well.

    try the following:

    -unplug everything
    -plug the enttec
    -launch madmapper
-go to preferences / DMX Output
    -select protocol DMX usb pro
-your card should now be listed on the right list (MadMapper interface)
-select your card and close the preferences

just to be sure, do you have MM 1.4.2 ?
any prior version is likely not to work

Just so i can rule out possibilities.... if the drivers had not been installed properly for some reason, would the pro utility still work? presumably it wouldn't. ??

    driver problem then.
clean up everything and restart the driver installation process.
Favor the latest FDTI driver first (get it from their site), then eventually switch to the Enttec one (remove the other first) if things go wrong.
