intermittent art-net output

I've been getting weird behavior from madmapper where it will just stop reading the video and output all black for a random period of time.
the video is still playing in the madmapper window, and I am still receiving artnet data its just filled with zeroes, all black.
I'm using madmapper 1.4.2 demo. I was wondering if this might be the equivalent of a watermark for the demo??
This video I took of my monitor shows the problem.

stops working at ~ 0:10
comes back at ~0:43
Has anyone dealt with anything like this before?
